At 19 years of age, she has done more than most people do in a lifetime. A seasoned veteran of the stage, Ivonne has performed and studied with Natalie MacMaster, Ashley MacIsaac, Mark OıConnor and April Verch to name a few. As one of Canadaıs hottest young performers, she has also opened for the Paperboys, Jann Arden, Stomp, Oscar Lopez and Farmerıs Daughter. Her talent, passion and charm have taken her all over Canada, the United States and Venezuela. She has performed for the Governor General of Canada, and has hit the stage at such big name festivals as ³Fiddles of the World² in Halifax, the Vancouver Folk Festival, the Dartmouth Fiddle Festival, the Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous Festival, the Vancouver Island Folk Festival and at the Centrepointe Theatre in Ottawa. A consummate entertainer, she is constantly in motion, whether dancing, fiddling or singing. An energy that is passed on to the audience wherever she performs. Ivonne has appeared on Much Music, City TV, CHTV and Europeıs TV5 as well as several CBC Radio programs including The Vicky Gabereau Show.

Asked about her debut CD ³Playing With Fire², she says ³Iım going to be playing some traditional fiddle tunes, but my background is Chilean on my fatherıs side and east coast on my motherıs side, so all that will come together with my own modern sound.² These include Spanish, Bulgarian, Metis and Texan influences as well as favourite Canadian tunes from both the East and West coasts. Guests on the album include Scott Henderson on saxophone, Adam Dobres on bass and guitar, Jessamy Zeeman on keyboard and percussion, Mike Alton on drums and Daniel Lapp on keyboard and guitar. As Daniel writes in the liner notes, ³ Enjoy this album, the first from a young fiddler whose splendid technique commands attention and deserves accolades but which never interferes with a spirited and soulful performance, which is at the heart of all great fiddling.²
