Contact DetailsTaylor Caspersen
Taylor Caspersen is a young singer/songwriter born and raised in Sooke, BC. He is locally known for his fiery passion for performing and writing music. His passion for music started with drums and percussion at the age of 4, and quickly it changed to a full-on musical addiction to other instruments: starting with the guitar at age 10, then piano, organ, banjo, bass, ukulele, harmonica, mandolin, and more. His first guitar was purchased from a friend at a local swap and shop for ten dollars. He is also the friendly host of the Kemp Lake Music Cafe’s Sunday open mic and jam, having hosted it bi-weekly for almost 4 years. Taylor has set-up a home studio in Shirley, BC and is working on his debut album, coming soon. Taylor started playing in the Sooke music scene in 2011, performing at local venues like the Stick in the Mud, the Kemp Lake Music Cafe, Sooke Fine Arts Show, Sooke Folk Music Society Coffee House, the Sooke Community Hall, the Shirley Hall, and many more.
While working on his own album, Taylor has also started to produce and engineer music for others as well. Having worked with world class musicians like Dave Allen, Chris Palmer, Dave Gallant, Zachary Doeding and Thom Southwood, he finds it easy to adapt to almost any playing style. He has worked in local theatre for years as a teen, acting in many productions and more recently was co-musical director, pianist/keyboardist, guitarist and vocalist for the first edition of Cabaret Sooke, in April 2015.
