FUNK/SOUL/R&B/JAZZ-FUNK: ANYONE?I live in Victoria, play bass and/or guitar, and would like to see if there might be others out there (drums, guitar, keys, vocals, brass) who are interested in playing funk, soul, and its variations. I am mostly interested in playing covers as opposed to originals, although quite often I like to put a new twist on a well-known song.
I find it somewhat difficult to motivate myself to practice without the band, so have not been playing or practicing much for the last couple of years. Previously I played with few garage bands, mostly classic rock.
Since finding common interests in music is the most important thing when forming a band, below are some of the performers whose music I find interesting and would like us to play:

You are aged 30+ (I am 40), and are comfortable in communicating with people who speak with accents (English is not my first language). Sense of humour, as well as rehearsal space, is a bonus. No rock stars please!
