Ontario-born songwriter Meg Tennant’s songs have been performed and recorded by various artists, including bluegrass singer/songwriter Tammy Fassaert (produced by John Reischman), Canadian ragtime band My Sweet Patootie, and California songwriter Trish Lester. Meg’s a capella song “Bucket of Love” continues to be performed by choirs in Canada, the US, Australia and Sweden. She has performed in Ontario and BC as a solo act, was a member of the Vancouver band August with Beverley Elliott, Linda Kidder and Rae Armour, and was in the 90’s duo Lingo Sisters with Janet Lillian Russell.
Tennant has recently released three singles, co-produced with Toronto roots-rock songwriter Mark Ripp, who co-produced her album “Echoed Light” in 2019. Her two previous albums were “The Sweetest Day in 2007 with the band August (produced by Andreas Schuld & August), and her first solo CD “Driving With You” in 2001 (produced by John Ellis).
At Vancouver’s Rogue Folk Club, Tennant has opened shows for the likes of Eliza Gilkyson and Tom Russell, and was part of the BC Artists Showcase to kick off the Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2023.
Currently living on Vancouver Island, she is writing songs for future release, and thoroughly enjoying living in the same city as her two daughters.
