HARRIS GILMORE AND THE MOJOS burn up the stage with hard driving blues, funky reggae, and fiery jams. But that's not all, oh no!
Talk about genre bending, HARRIS and the band mix things up with strange, wonderful, and sometimes just weird combinations of musical genres; THE MOJOS could be pounding out a down and dirty blues cover, like "Wang Dang Doodle" and Harris will get a strange look in his eyes and break into a few bars of the 80's hit, "Tainted Love", blended in with Bob Marley's "Get Up Stand Up".
Or how about a Bo Diddley medley interspersed with Tex Ritter's 1940's cowboy tune, "I've Got Spurs That Jingle Jangle Jingle", under a screaming Led Zeppelin guitar solo .
Listen to ALL NIGHT LONG; and you'll hear why HARRIS' original solo harmonica tune sounds like a bluesified version of a trashy romance novel.
If all that is too much try HARRIS' original; BANG BANG BOOGIE, a slide guitar boogie that peaks with HARRIS delivering a spoken message, overtop of the groove, about keeping your dreams alive.

The band's recent fiery appearance at the 2006 Vancouver Island Blues Bash won over a pile of new fans and generated more interest in HARRIS' music and THE MOJOS' intense live performances.

Harris has opened shows for Robben Ford, Downchild Blues Band, Katie Webster, and, don't forget...folksinger Valdy?

"HARRIS puts body and soul into his performances." -Amy O'Connor - CoverSTORY

"A harmonica master and soulfoul singer."
-Joseph Blake - Victoria TimesColonist

"Too damn loud!"
-Marion Gilmore - HARRIS' mother

HARRIS GILMORE - singer/songwriter, harmonica, slide guitar, percussion, (including a pineapple and plastic milk carton with brush).
Former lead singer/songwriter harmonica player with blues-rock group HARRIS & THE HOTHEADS. A drummer first, HARRIS played with blues/folkie KEN HAMM, (Juno award winner), while also pursuing a career as a professional stage actor. Harris is still a ham.

AL SABOURIN – lead guitar. He has been in Victoria for 15 years now after a misspent youth of touring around in rock bands. He originally played with the Cultivators when he arrived and ended up recording the guitar on most of the Islands reggae bands cds. He then formed Rainshadow an Afro/Latin/Rock band, which played at numerous festivals and events and recorded 2 cds. He has played on numerous cds and even a few movies as well as performing with a wide variety of bands at every major festival in Victoria. In 2000 he turned his attention to acoustic latin jazz and has recorded 2 cds with Los Gringos Locos and will be at this year's Jazz festival once again. He stumbled into the MOJOS so he probably doesn't remember any of this .

KYLE SHICK “Boom Boom”- drums, backing vocals, quips.
A classically trained pianist until he was 15, Kyle played in jazz/concert bands when he was still in grade school. Playing in different styled bands from punk to funk as working as a dj, spinning and mixing funk, hip hop, reggae and soul gave him perspective. His percussion reflects his love of the mix.

STEVE DUBEN - bass, backing vocals.
Born in Georgetown, Guyana Steve immigrated to Canada with his parents. Coming from a family of musicians and musical instrument makers, West Indian calypso and soca rhythms influenced him at a very early age and continue to inspire a unique, wide body groove style in Steve’s playing.

Steve has had the privilege to perform with, Tommy Banks, Dale Jacobs (Attic Records) PJ Perry, Brian Hughes, Big Miller, George Blondheim, Ray Griff, (RCA), Martha Reeves, Mark Korven, Declan O’Doherty, (Duke Street Records), Tom Lang, Vince Mai, Gabriel Mark Hasselbach, KD Lang, Julio Cabrera, Gary Guthman, Morry Sterns, Torben Holm-Pederson, Al Wilson (Soul City Records), John Ferraro, Gene Hardy, Gay Delorme, Will Millar and Herb Ellis.

Recently he produced, collaborated and performed with Paul Wainwright and Saxsafari. The CD, Plank Spankin’, ranked #43 on the Indie Smooth Jazz Charts!

Steve has recorded with CTV’s Thrill of a Lifetime host, Doug Paulson. He has performed for Players International Jazz Festivals, du Maurier International Jazz Festivals and TD Jazz Festival Victoria! He has been featured on commercials for Esso, McDonalds, Petro Canada, and Hyundai and many others.

Currently as a writer, producer, clinician, bassist and performer, Steve is enjoying his passion for music!
