| Akylore User Info... | No fucking question...this is one of the best power metal albums I have heard in a long time (with maybe the exception of Lost Horizon's new one and of course the almighty Blind Guardian.) This album is technical but it also provides wicked song structure (a lot of cool riffs instead of just solo-wanking,) a lot of the songs are on average 7+minutes, and the vocals are extremely unique. Let's just say that his vocals are more "baritone-range" for power metal, but very versatile too, a lot of range. The keyboard/guitar trade-off's are cool, and the drumming is solid and exteremely tight. He does some of what I think they call synchopathic timing (eg: the guitar plays the same line but he does a bunch of weird rhythm changes to the repeating guitar line, if that makes any sense to you) For those of you who are too cheesed out or turned off by power metal because of its "gayness" or "whininess," pick this album up, now!!! http://www.manticora.dk - Fri, 3 Oct 2003 12:27pm | ||
