I was surprised to find that I actually liked this despite the fact it wouldn't normally be my cup of tea. I'm not a big hardcore fan, but Soilent Green are actually a pretty decent band with some great grooves.

Your thoughts?

Jaron. I've said it before. This is NOT hardcore. This is just "technical" death metal. Very decent album. The vocals are done completely different on this one compared to the last few. The riffs are probably a lot more accessible this time around. - Mon, 13 Feb 2006 5:42pm

Hmmm....I'm not sure. I wouldn't say this is all around flat-out hardcore, but the vocals are definitely hardcore. And although there's some interesting time signatures/changes and all that technical-semantic-stuff, there are some OBVIOUS hardcore grooves in the guitar riffs. But I have to agree with Jaron, much more innovative than other hardcore material I've heard. I think this is something that death-metalers could appreciate (if they can get past the vocals.) - Wed, 15 Feb 2006 11:54pm
