After a long, grueling wait for this goddamn album to be released in North America, it is finally here. Many people are sure to mention how this is a huge shift for Satyricon, but I'm not quite sure about that. It seems to just be a natural progression from Rebel Extravaganza. The songs on this disc are, for the most part, straight forward and catchy as hell. With a definite hard rock edge the feel of the entire album comes across as definitely more "balls-out". The obviously more rockin' tunes are "Fuel for Hatred" and "Repined Bastard Nation", not to say that Satyr and Frost have abandoned their black metal roots with "Mental Mercury" and the like. This is a fucking great release: very straight up, eerie at times, and brilliantly simplistic. Worth the wait I would have to say. - Fri, 23 Apr 2004 2:28pm

Yes they are playing in seattle with them 2, heh, not worth the trip out in my eyes, but curious to know, is this new satyricon better than*or as good as* MOTHER NORTH ?

If so I'll give it a listen \m/ - Fri, 23 Apr 2004 5:14pm

I picked up the European release in October of 2002! (When actually Masterbating the War God was visiting me!) Its a pretty good album has a nice hit song "Fuel for Hatred." Saw them play last year with Khold, great show so you shouldn't miss the Seattle one! Not very often you can see them. - Sat, 24 Apr 2004 7:39am
