I don't know how many years it's been since I thought about The Stupids. Not since getting "Peruvian Nun" outta Thrasher around 86 I think.
The thing about The Stupids was that they were from England in the early 80's but rather than go with the usual UK82 flow, they played US style skatecore. And well too.
Well here is their moment to shine. Their two disc retrospective "Stupid Is As Stupid Does" is not only a little trip down memory lane(for me anyways), but proves that the band did indeed shred.
The Stupids and Spermbirds have to be counted as two of the best European hardcore bands that slipped through the cracks just because they didn't play a "Euro" style of punk. - Tue, 20 Jan 2004 6:38pm

I love the Stupids!!
My personal tastes have always run towards North American punk, other than the Clash, XRay-Specs, and the Stupids!
Invented in America,(punk), I have always found the British forms to be showy with little substance.
I know MANY would disagree with me, but along with those few British punk bands that I mentioned, The Ramones,DOA,Dead Kens, and our beloved DayGlos, have always been at the top of my punk lists. I will run out and pick this disc up!
