Anonymous I just wanted to mention that I was in Vancouver last weekend and saw TWO bands from Victoria, Run Chico Run (wonderful as always) on Thursday and the Ghosts headlining on Friday, both at the Pic. The Ghosts were great, a bit too loud for the space though. Way to go guys for showing Vancouver that we 'islanders' are worthy of their precious attention. - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 4:34pm
unattained We (in Van) also saw A.W.T. last weekend along with the Sweathogs the night after. Both bands play out here pretty regularly. I can't speak for other bars in Vancouver, but for the record, it seems to me that The Cobalt has NEVER forgotten that 'islanders' are worthy of our attention. - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 5:30pm
Anonymous interestingly enough frog eyes played with stephen malkmus on sunday as well, bringing the island invasion count to three. - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 5:34pm

Dont forget Dry Fisted, they may be a calgary band, but Mark is old school Victoria. It's one of the bonuses of living in a really boring city, you get a ton of wicked musicians coming out of here. - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 9:57am

Show Biz Giants also rocked the Sugar Refinery last Monday (maybe not exactly a Victoria band anymore, but I still live here and 60% of the band are from here). The Refinery is almost like Victoria central with Run Chico Run, the Buttless Chaps and dp smith all playing there recently. - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 3:47pm
