| Sati User Info... | That turned out to be SUCH a wicked show. Not for the reasons I thought it'd be, but chances were good since both bands are such heavyweights - the new and the old. The new (Tyrants Blood) I'd seen once before so besides just who makes up the band, I had high expectations. I don't trust hype, but in this case from what I can tell so far its warranted. Last time I could make out just enough to know that they're probably an excellent band all around, but all I could tell for sure was that their drummer (one of my favorites & mic'd really well that night) was back in fine form and that I definately don't give the guitarists enough credit. * I just want to say that the sound at the Balmoral has improved 10 fold for each show I've seen there since. Last night all I heard was a big, very loud mash so I went to the side to just watch drums instead (couldn't see him from anywhere but). I heard some cool sounding guitar but that was about it. It was kind of a cop out not to wander around to find a better spot because I heard later the sound near the back was alright. The band seemed to play really well, and wow, do they ever have a full harem of rabid, metalhead GUYS to choose from at the end of the night, ha! Next show if I can't hear that band properly, I'll be SO pissed. Tom can pull off some incredibly sweet guitar solos - I heard some last time and was stoked about hearing more. Its truly a shame to have missed out for a 2nd time. And then Infernal Majesty. Everyone seems to know without a shadow of a doubt that IM are one of our greatest bands. Although I've always agreed, for some wierd reason, perhaps the somewhat slower pace, I've never been really blown away until last night. Now I fully agree with all the raves about their drums & bass being absolutely devastating, not to mention their singer... all kinds of venom & attack coming off him making that whole band nothing if not convincing. I went outto see an unbelievable drummer but sadly I couldn't hear him. What an excellent surprise to find ANOTHER one that night to make up for it. The man's a joy to watch. IM said something about it being another 6 months til their next show, but hopefully they'll make the most of what kind of shape they're obviously in right now and put on another one, if not here, in Victoria.
