| trevor corey User Info... | I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Big Canadian talent, small Victoria venue. Sugar was packed tonight. Didn't catch the name of the opener, people seemed to dig them. For a "hip-hop" show K-OS rocked out. Very good electric guitar, two percusionists, keyboards, stand up bass, and a mixer. I particularily liked the end whith the East Indian, Caribean sound, very funky. Negatives- The doormen made us stand in the rain way to long while checking to make sure people's eye colour matched thier i.d., and 7.75 for 12 year old single malt is way to much, 3.75 at Evolution. Fer chrisakes, it's not angel piss. - Sat, 18 Nov 2006 2:35am | ||
| Laprider User Info... | T/C you tink that's bad! I was at Central B/G seeing Don Ross a couple years ago, ordered a single malt $15 with tip, it was rancid and had flies floating in it, when I returned it I was givin a glass of crown royal and no money back? Last time I ever went there. - Sat, 18 Nov 2006 10:46am | ||
| _Griphin_ User Info... | That's gross, but if it has fruit flies in the product there not blocking the spouts. This happened quite a lot at the Swiftsure (too expensive to drink there) Bar, they fix this with those golf tees inserted in the spouts so the flies couldn't get in. Though if I paid $15 for a single malt, I'd bitch rather loudly to the bartender and make a scene to get my money back and get the single malt for free and gotten a free Crown 'r. - Sat, 18 Nov 2006 12:50pm Edited: Sun, 19 Nov 2006 12:14pm | ||

| cooper User Info... | Funny how a musical form that originated in the streets of America is evaluated based on a drink that rich, white, Scottish guys drink. - Mon, 20 Nov 2006 9:47pm | ||
| trevor corey User Info... | Melting pot baby. The musical form was not being evaluated that way, the venue was. Admitedly I am a rich, white guy of Scottish descent, but you don't have to be rich to enjoy good Scotch. Just a moderate, occasional drinker who likes quality over quantity. - Mon, 20 Nov 2006 11:47pm Edited: Tue, 21 Nov 2006 12:08am | ||
