Woah - GM blew TWO amps at this show! But I think they've also snuck in to be one of our best metal bands right now. For me it all turned a couple of weeks ago during a (Motorhead meets Thin Lizzy?) song they played at the Mitochondrion show. It all seemed to come together after that point and I suspect thats why they earned a last minute spot on this night.
So its near the end of their set (& they're KILLING) and the first amp goes and like, 3 minutes later, the other. So after a bit of a pause, the singer/guitarist guy (sinned's vocalist) just starts up alone with the drummer and they nail it all anyway! Those are pro's who lose all that support, take it on and don't let it throw them off. Just as intense on all drums, vocals and guitar, wow. Drag we lost the other guys cuz I was enjoying them tons, wicked wicked guitars. I still think they could pare song or set lengths down a touch but thats just short-attention-span-me. Man, are they good, and its about time cuz it sure looked like they had it in them before... we were just waiting for it.
Onslaught opened with their singer in the electrocution chair while blood slowly started oozing from his mouth through the sack over his head! Followed later with flames shooting through alternate eyeholes from this huge cardboard skull cutout! Totally over the top cheeze with at least a couple really good songs - we're all hoping they never pull back.. reminds even the crossed-arm-crowd to ENJOY metal. ONSLAUGHT!
Tendonitis. :)
Jesse had his monster kit angled in the corner, so from left to right I saw Duncan, (Eddy!), Chris (that his name?) & Jesse from the side. But for some reason this may have been the first time I didn't watch drums compulsively. I focussed on guitars instead, and mostly Chris cuz I never get to see him, he's amazing and far more fluid than I remember. Nothing got so complicated it threw me off and I felt totally in sync with it all. I saw the performance as flawless, but then I love them and have been waiting years for that.
I hope someone got pictures cuz man was it pretty in there last night!
Really really happy. Thanks all! - Sat, 11 Nov 2006 3:52pm Edited: Sat, 11 Nov 2006 4:00pm

what. the. fuck.
101 look-sees and one comment. Kinda like a local metal show.
Curmudgeon you're gonna be ostracized by the pack.

Anyway, yep, and if Tendo played again, wherever, I'd come out for it in a heartbeat. I love them THAT (--------------------------------------------------) much.
Anyway, truth be told, you guys will want to see all those bands. Get GM out - strike when the iron's hot. aren't they from there or somewhere close? i don't know any of them. Get them and drw out and have a wicked time, I guarantee it. - Fri, 17 Nov 2006 12:35am
