| ak User Info... | here's my effort to bring back the long forgotten show review on livevictoria: cobras cobras cobras - sweet dudes with some sweet high kicks. you might remember some of the members in a band called HRP, who i thoroughly enjoyed while they were alive. the cob's did a hasty little cover of the seminal HRP classic "payphone" and some other keyboard and guitar numbers followed suit. good antics, not great sound for them - that's the oak for you. BA johnston - this being my second time seeing the one man show that is BA johnston, let me say this - BLOWN AWAY. he's pelvic thrusting to a casio samba? oh wait, no he is pouring water over his naked chest and getting into peoples comfort zones.. scratch that.. he's now crawling between people's legs and NOW HE IS BREAKDANCING in a pool of his own sweat. "i've seen the face of entertainment, and his face is BA johnston" vincat - not only was this the second of three shows for vincat, but with a recent departure of their multi-instrumentalist bethany fast, they were re-arranging parts as they went! i shook some tambourines with the cat, and some dudes dominated the mic (GG allin style) during the vincat classics. by far the biggest crowd of the night, and really supportive sing alongs and clap alongs. bro down. fury and the mouse - saskatchewan's dance rock powerhouse (now calling the garden city their home) destroyed the stage with antics, classic jokes from your childhood, and ass shakin' bass lines. smaller crowd, but still really good vibe from all in attendance. i keep hearing brooke's vocals in my head as, like, 90's house power choruses or something and i think that's totally awesome. the end! - Fri, 3 Nov 2006 11:44pm Edited: Fri, 3 Nov 2006 11:46pm | ||

| duncan User Info... | agreed. all in all it was a really fun show. Everyone had short sets which I actually really liked.. made everything move fast which was good.. and made way for lots of great bands. Aiden hit le nail on le head for the most part. Forgot to mention his multitalented telf keeping toco and jorge grounded with tight beats and nice vocal tra-la-las. Like I said gary-oak = good times. vincat = powerhouse GG Allin = present in spirit. - Sat, 4 Nov 2006 6:32pm | ||
