| trevor corey User Info... | I didn't catch the openers name, but he was good. Bob Dylan influenced for sure. The Sadies kicked my ass. I think most of the crowd came to see them. For those of you that left after the Sadies set, you fools. The Sadies then came back on as Greg's band. Wow. Blew my mind in an acid/horse psychedelic kinda way. Guitar wizardry plain and simple. All you guitar players out there would have been impressed no matter what your prefered genre. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better they kicked my ass again with an awesome rendition of "Diamond Mine" to finish the show. To witness such talent in such an intimate venue was something to behold. One of the best shows I have ever seen, and I've seen a few. Canadian music kicks ass! Thank you Greg Keelor, thank you Sadies. - Tue, 24 Oct 2006 1:30am | ||
| Haden User Info... | Really wanted to make it to this show. Glad to hear it was just as amazing as I hoped it would be. Sad that I didn't make it down. - Tue, 24 Oct 2006 4:12am | ||
| Steve User Info... | I Completely agree. To see that much talent for 15 bucks is unbelevable. I gotta wonder how Greg Keelor can still do that bus tour thing at 52 years of age. He seems to have just as much energy as ever and his voice was in fine form. The new songs are good too-more psychedelic than usual. The guy is a phenomenal song writer and he's a damn fine performer too-classic show. The Sadies are amazing too-so many unsung heroes in Canadian music. - Tue, 24 Oct 2006 10:17pm | ||
| trevor corey User Info... | I was wondering where the money comes from to get an act like this to play such a small venue. What's the seating cap at the Central? I think it is a labour of love for some artists. I always try to pick up c.d.s at gigs to help pay for gas for the tour "van". I picked up Keelor's album at the show. I've listened to it now a coupla times while in car. Sooo good! Honestly, I doubt I would have bought it otherwise. As good as his solo work is, it was a very cool experience to stand in front of the stage and sing along to "Hasn't Hit Me Yet". I really enjoyed all the Blue Rodeo songs they played. - Wed, 25 Oct 2006 1:33am | ||
