| Tyler User Info... | ![]() I think part of what made this show so great was the venue. the james bay cafe room is the PERFECT size for a hardcore show. so much fun. plus the bands, the theme, the brownies, the event!! I will not forget this show, EVER. - Sun, 17 Sep 2006 12:35am | ||
| darcy User Info... | THE BULGES!~~~! Right then...This show was a good time. The bands all slayed. Wasn't as fun from all the people wearing tight black shirts with crossed arms looking un-impressed, but all of the bands brought on the heavy death sound of doom and didn't let up. The general atmosphere at this show was great! Lots of good times and laughs. All the bands played super well, and the food was just (no pun) icing on the cake. Great job for all of those involved; ya can't say no to a 50 cent t-shirt. - Sun, 17 Sep 2006 12:39am | ||

| NOISE NOT BOMBS User Info... | have to say this show was great! almost every one was sober, no problems, great crowd, huge turnout, excellent performances.... I may not choose hardcore as my fav music, but some times I envy your scene here in town... as well I may not agree with the politics of AK47 (at all) but they always put on a great show... Is jody playing with them in the future? and Marget Thrasher lived up to all I heard, but Tough As Nails took the show, great performance, and great sound... Awsome energy, and a great pit. Also I finally got to see almost a full set by No Holding Back. Thanks, I look forward to seeing more of these shows, and it is nice to go to a great show without having to be the guy putting it on! 100X better than the Psycobilly show the night before, mainly cause of the crowd, even though I love The Switchblades, and enjoyed the creepshow... - Tue, 19 Sep 2006 1:13am | ||
| Rawb User Info... | "..I may not agree with the politics of AK47 (at all).." ******************************************************** "At all"? So... you are pro Capitalism, rape, exploitation, cops and Imperialism then? Ah, I thought not. See, this is exactly the kind of off the cuff remark which is the hallmark of a non-thinking reactionary and which only serves to confuse or completely turn people who know nothing about said subject (AK47 "politics") against a group who probably follow a line of thinking not very far from themselves. I'm sure you are not a reactionary, Conrad (that is your name, correct?), so please, think--or at least clarify-- before you speak. - Thu, 21 Sep 2006 10:41am | ||
| NOISE NOT BOMBS User Info... | You seam to be suggesting that there is little difference between anarchism and marxist communism (or maoism), or perhapse that every thing on the left is close or similar to every thing else that is not right wing. I see a huge devide, the premis to my politcs lies in anti oppression, abolition of all hiarchy, and opposition to all authority except that of ones self (or a collective one chooses to be part of) Where as you support a centralized state, am I not correct? some thing I am dead set against, I see support for any kind of state, or government authority (centralized authority) as being as bad as, or in some cases worse than what we have now. I can not support those politics. One last thing, you may say some thing about me assuming what you belive, if you are wondering where I have gotten these ideas about your politics from, I once asked Tony specifically about your (ak47s) politics, at a show in Haris Humungo House. His reply was simple. "we aline our selves completely with the Maoist movement" - Thu, 21 Sep 2006 4:37pm | ||

| XJAyX User Info... | Conrad, maybe you need to reserach the maoist movement a little more before you start claiming you don't agree with it at all. If all you stand for is anarchism, and don't care about opression, women's rights, police brutality, class division, etc. then yes you may completely disagree with our politics. BUT if you actually read the lyrics on any of our albums you would probably find yourself agreeing with more of our 'politics' than you would disagree. The fact is that the divisions in our political viewpoints are small considering the hurdles that have to be overcome before any difference can be made within the society in which we live. I am stoked you had a good time though. See you at the next all ages show. The show was rad. I was pretty jet lagged, and more or less a walking zombie, but the bands ruled. Margaret Thrasher was sooo much bette rthan last time, and I htouhgt they were awresome at that show too. They were so much tighter amd their drummer has improved a lot. No holding back pulled of a great set, I didn;t get a demo though, wtf? AK and Nails totally put on wicked sets without me, there is definately somehtign weird in being able to take an objective viewpoint on your own bands. All short shorts aside the crowd was sweet, and I think that was probably the best bobsled I have ever seen. - Fri, 22 Sep 2006 9:57pm Edited: Fri, 22 Sep 2006 10:04pm | ||
| jay brown User Info... | I had to leave early as the chemotherapy wasnt allowing me to have a whole lot of fun that night. But I did get to see the opening band and was able to say my hello's to everyone which was nice. The short shorts were cracking me up to no end. I made a point at home of wearing the longest shorts I owned that werent actually pants, I figured I would be the odd man out and I was correct. Happy birthdays all around, and ya for Mac's caramels being sooooooooooooooooo yummy. - Sat, 23 Sep 2006 11:51am | ||
