First time going to that 'venue'. Felt really sketchy walking out there. Luckily I ran into some guys who were going to the same thing and confirmed that it *was* way out by the lighthouse.
Arrived to some lovely squeals from the end of griefer's set. Too bad I missed the rest of it, but luckily there was a lot more griefer later after the individual sets.
GILF did some cool stuff with his palm pilote sequencer that gave the noise some nice followable rhythm before it was completely destroyed with fuzzy feedback. The whole set felt like good variations on a theme.
Quebec LePink did a lot of cool stuff. Great work with the tape recorder, almost felt like turntables :P Loved the commercials on the radio, especially with mention of Antonio Banderas. Good mic use for feedback too.
The groupsets were great. Got to see some of what griefer was doing. Lots of good delay and loop work. Well mashed together.

The venue had to be the coolest venue ever though. Being way out over the water with ships going by listening to noise was surreal.

Great show. Can't wait for the next one. - Mon, 7 Aug 2006 2:02pm

Operative word is guerrilla.

No power outlets (that I am aware of), everything was self-contained. We ran off a deep cycle 12V car battery with a power inverter providing AC for the electronics. You can see the Pram of Power pretty well in this shot. Holds the battery, inverter, sub woofer, front end speakers, amplifier and crossover in a single unit (Dave of ear-raid is an evil genius). - Tue, 8 Aug 2006 8:58am

Pretty dark for the most part but shows off the location and sound. Check out the end of the GILF vid for context.

Holy crap, you're in Griefer... wish I'd known that before Moron, I would've tried a little harder to sound less dorky when I mentioned you guys before. ugh.

This really does sound like the coolest show ever. I'm jealous of you guys who got to be there... been loving that footage, especially at the 3min or so mark where the moon's reflection off the water comes in.
Are you going to play out there again? - Sat, 12 Aug 2006 2:23pm
