Scary thought, they'll sell out. This town is screaming for talent, even Godsmack. Every well known band, even Motley Crue, always sells out. That's cool, though...

FYI
Godsmack did not sell out the arena, you nay-sayers missed an absolutely awesome show. The sound was great too, they had the bass and treble turned up, the midrange down and the volume level that was just right. I saw both Def Leppard and Motley in the same building... Godsmack kicked butt on those guys. The drum battle was unreal too. The last part of the show everyone was on their feet and singing along. My voice was toast on Saturday... full marks for Godsmack live! - Mon, 26 Jun 2006 11:05am Edited: Mon, 26 Jun 2006 11:14am

Gotta agree with magster65 - dunno who made the review in the TC but obviously they never even went to the concert cos there is no way in hell that Hinder (poor man's Buck Cherry) blew away Godsmack, what a joke. Hinder could have stayed home.
Didn't hear people singing any of their songs but Godsmack had everyone singing along and making a lot of noise for the Boys from Boston. - Mon, 26 Jun 2006 3:11pm Edited: Mon, 26 Jun 2006 3:11pm

Hey Folks...Mike Devlin from the TC here.
My review said the HEADLINER was upstaged by a band 30 years its senior, which I went on to say was BLACK SABBATH, not Hinder.
Black. Sabbath.
Godsmack's cover of The Wizard was easily the highlight of the night, which is what I was alluding to, if you read it properly. No other song came close, which proved Godsmack has a long way to go if they are going to be considered more than a popular bar band.
It was cool top them here, but beyond that I wasn't totally impressed. Way better hard rock shows come through town, arena or not.
I have a serious soft spot for Godsmack's brand of rock n roll, but they were punching the clock here. Just my opinion of course.
Sure, the sound at Motley Crue sucked balls but this was a kindergarten class compared to the energy of the Crue show. - Tue, 27 Jun 2006 9:51pm Edited: Tue, 27 Jun 2006 11:09pm

Hi Mike, wasn't meaning to slag ya cos I never did read the review, but I do call em as I see em. I guess we have differing opinions. I've been to too many concerts to count and this one rates high up there in my books.
I dunno why you'd compare them to Black Sabbath, cos nobody compares to Sabbath.
As for the Crue I have the DVD and they are way past their prime. Cash grab.
They could come back vicious instead we get "If I Die Tomorrow" what's that lounge Crue. Come On. - Wed, 28 Jun 2006 9:24am

I agree the Crue are way past their prime. But Godsmack's two drum risers-on-stage trick is embarassing compared to Tommy Lee's two drum risers hanging from the roof trick, which he flew between while hanging from a bungee chord.
Again, I like Godsmack. I just didn't think they offered much that was remarkable. Not bad, not good, Just average. - Wed, 28 Jun 2006 10:28am

Tommy Lee = Peter Pan
Bring back Samantha Mahoney - she kicked his hip-hop ass
Crue's spectacle of dancers, clowns, fireworks distract you from the fact Mick Mars is the only real talented player in the band. - Wed, 28 Jun 2006 11:35am

Yeah, but did you read the concert review in the Victoria News yesterday (June 28th)? It was apparently written by a 13 year old Godsmack fan. Read that and tell me that that band isn't worthless, if it attracts fans so genuinely dumb (and contributes songs to recruiting commercials for the US Marines). - Thu, 29 Jun 2006 3:56pm
