Soulscar- Talented, technical, good songwriting. The vocals were ok, but got a bit old after a while. Nothing too innovative on the vocals, but that's what time and practice is for. Guitar harmonies from hell! A bright future ahead for these guys. Their bass player needs to put on new strings before shows! Shame on you, Soulscar bassist! hehe.

Cyanotic- I am a big fan of these guys and was looking forward to seeing them and they did not disappoint! Huge sound, cool vocal lines and a drummer that was relentless on the kickers. Pro sound and writing. Got the crowd into it in a big way. Their stage presence was lacking a bit, but that is a minor detail. Most impressive overall!

Meatlocker Seven- Technical difficulties was the theme of the night for us. I had a weird feeling about this show from when we were late getting to load in. One of Dave's corner clamps snapped for his rack, delaying set up by 25 minutes. Soulscar drummer was kind enough to loan out his clamp. On top of that, DMD's kit takes a while to set up as it is.
Finally got to start the set and everything fell into place. Had a blast playing even though it was only for 30 minutes. We will try to make up for that next time with a few extra songs.
Thanks to Soulscar, Cyanotic, Ben and Liam and the staff at Lucky Bar and to everyone who came out to hang out with us!
And Dave is sorry about the door backstage and will remedy the hole. - Sun, 9 May 2004 10:09am

I thought the show was good throughout. Personally, I liked the music of Soulscar best (being a fan of harmony guitar parts and melodic death metal). However, even though I thought their drummer was quite good, I noticed the sound quality difference that the drum triggers make when the next two bands played. Kinda like night and day although I think Soulscar's kick drum may have been triggered. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Cynotic was the most professional sounding and tight. Great gear, great sound. But for some reason I just can't seem to get into their music. I've got one of their cd's and it just doesn't do it for me. Live, I feel about the same but Cynotic certainly do what they do well. And the crowd seemed to enjoy it.
Not much I can say about ML7. It was a good solid hour and fifteen minutes of stage setup before they started playing and that made it about 1:45am. That's right, 1:45.
Because I had to work in the morning, I could only stay for three songs.
It was nice to see such a well attended metal night at Lucky's. I am not a big fan of all agers so I encourage ML7 to setup and promote more cool bar shows like this one. I will be sure not to miss them. - Sun, 9 May 2004 10:23am

Cyanotic were awesome. Liked the humor and lack of cliches in their presentatation. Their CD is original and very listenable.
