So I'm in the Sally Ann yesterday, and I score a concert DVD of Hawksley Workman for $3.99! Watched it today. Quite the showman, and the guy can sure play that guitar.

I had tickets to his last show in town, but my son arrived two weeks early, and we couldn't make it. My girl and I joked that we should've named our boy Hawksley. He'll thank us later on that we didn't. Or maybe not - that's a cool name.

Did anyone of you make it to the show? How was it? - Fri, 22 Dec 2006 7:30pm

IF you're talking about the past show in April at the conservatory, it was amazing. It was just him and Mr. Lonely, his piano player.

If you're talking about he past show in Vancouver, I couldn't make it over for it. But it was with the full band. That much I know. Congratulations on your new family member! - Sun, 24 Dec 2006 1:33am

Thanks Haden. Incidentally, we missed Sarah Harmer too, for the same reason. But we gave our tickets to our midwife, so it was all good. - Wed, 3 Jan 2007 3:13pm

I wish I got to go... but my boy's mom is his biggest fan, so she always gets dibs when he's in town (leaving me to babysit of course).

I REALLY REALLY like his cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart... slowest saddest dirtiest guitar solo I've ever heard... - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 10:44am

I went. We had a friend who is a fan treat us and I had a great time. I'd only heard one song before and was open to something new. He's amazing with his vocals and was just as funny as could be too. "Jealous of your Cigarette" has to be a favorite song for sure!
