| Jonny User Info... |  I think this has been attempted before in Victoria, most recently by Carolyn Marks if I'm not mistaken (perhaps with a very similar band name, so that might change). Anyway, I'd like to put together a *big* band of sharp dressing country sharp shooters. Big as in a few guitars, a pedal steel, drummer, bass, backup vocals, some horns and some strings ... and a tailor. Probably a good 10 people or more, and hopefully a good mix of male and female. I'm talkin' the full overblown 70's Nashville sound ... Bill Anderson, George Jones, Dolly Parton, Buck Owens, that kind of stuff, but with a bit of a rock edge, ala Gram Parsons. If you liked Robert Altman's "Nashville", you'll love being in this band! I'd like to start rehearsing @ Lemon Tree, and then infiltrate Logan's by playing there as often as possible (with a house band sort of attitude), and once we hit our stride, start adding some originals to the mix, and then hit the highway, entourage in tow! - Tue, 12 Jul 2011 6:15pm | ||

| hoffa User Info... | Sacralidge! ;-) Buck Owens started the Bakersfield Sound (California) which was distinctly unlike Nashville. The Buckeroos were a trim guitar outfit, zippy tele leads and whiny harmonies as opposed to the string or horn sections or reverby choirs of the Nashville sound. Sounds, like a fun project. | Jonny User Info... | Hey folks, Sorry for the slackardly reply time ... this project has taken a bit of a back seat while I'm focusing on a recording project of my solo stuff, but I would like to fire it up again at some point! FYI so far there are/were a banjo/guitar/singer/writer and a singer/writer who joined forces with me on this project. @squarewave wow, I'm really digging your music!
