Ocean Island Backpackers Inn... that's where I work.

We're looking for good bands, performers, people with good music taste etc to entertain a mixed crowd of foreigners (who are staying at the hostel) and locals (who come in to hit on the foreigners). We want people who are into booking stuff ahead of time, doing adequate promotion and providing me with info in time to get lots of postering and promo done... and we can pay you in beer or a percentage of the bar sales or - talk to us.

Because of our sound situation we can't do anything super-loud. Our guests would be pissed. We also can't accommodate music that's super-aggressive, depressing or offensive, which I know rules out tons of people in this forum - don't be mad, I'm at work right now! My job with this is to find music for this crowd! But I mean, if you're not sure whether what you're doing applies, then get in touch anyway!

The Deadbeats, would be interested in playing, we are a three peice rock band, we don't have to play really loud, even though we liked too. None of our songs are offesive in anyway and most of it isn't aggressive but our ages are 15,15 and 17 so it would be kind of illegal for you to pay us in beer. my email is [email protected] - Fri, 9 Sep 2005 4:49pm

My band, Kilamanca, would be interested in playing. We play rock music: not punk or hard rock but rock. We would have no problem playing at a suitable volume.

Hey our music is loud, vulgar(in some peoples minds), agressive, not to depressing(unless perhaps you were already depressed)sooooo......I don't think the DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS are what you are looking for,,but we'd probably get those little asian girls pretty wet and their boyfriends back home pretty pissed. If you got any other shows where perhaps you might need us give us a email,

My band would be interested.. we're called Behind the Sun, at least until we can find something better. We have some originals or we can do covers, mostly peppers, pearl jam and some classic rock. Volume won't be a problem.
