Hey guys...
I saw this post in one of my myspace groups. Personally I am afraid to look at ANY of the links but if anyone has balls please check it out and sign the petition. I havent even gone to the petition link for fear of seeing photos.

"The below sites have images of a man who claims to be an artist. He chains a dog in the middle of a gallery space for weeks and visitors watch the dog die slowly of starvation and dehydration as it is withheld food and water. I have seen the still images but cannot look at the film. Please join me and others by stopping this atrocity. It is outrageous that it has not stopped.
please forward to others.

I'm not clicking either.
I don't need a petition. Just an address. Seriously, get me the guy's address. - Tue, 8 Apr 2008 7:35pm

I am a big supporter of the arts but this was no form of "art". It's a disgrace to see someone let a living creature starve.

However we can still learn from this: Why did no one stop this? Why didn't anyone punch the guys face inside his skull and free the dog? Where were peoples action on this? Would it take a person chained to a wall to starve for them to act up? According to a translation of the petition "During the exhibition some people requested the freedom of the small dog, to which he artist refused himself." Requested? I guess people have become so naively pacifistic.

EDIT:

Doing my internet homework produced this from the GUARDIAN UK:
Vargas, 32, said he wanted to test the public's reaction, and insisted none of the exhibition visitors intervened to stop the animal's suffering. He refused to say whether the animal had survived the show, but said he had received dozens of death threats.

Juanita Bermúdez, director of the Códice Gallery, insisted Natividad (the dog) escaped after just one day. She said: 'It was untied all the time except for the three hours the exhibition lasted and it was fed regularly with dog food Habacuc himself brought in.'

Glad to hear it was a hoax. I was actually losing sleep over this. I could very well have killed the guy. - Wed, 9 Apr 2008 2:37am Edited: Wed, 9 Apr 2008 2:42am
