| Lordpatch User Info... | US held Political Prisoners in Support of the Palestinian Resistance Posted by: "Break Chains" [email protected] breakthechains02 Tue Aug 8, 2006 12:07 pm (PST) While Jericho Boston's work is necessarily focused on support for progressive political prisoners held by the US, the struggle of the Palestinian people and the Lebanese people has, of course, been in our minds recently. As of January 2004, around 6,000 Palestinian political prisoners were being held by Israel. More recently Israel took prisoner eight Palestinian Cabinet ministers and one quarter of the Palestinian Legislative Council. Israel also holds approximately 350 Palestinian children and 81 Palestinian women. These women, children and men face systematic torture and abuse. However, despite Israeli attacks on Palestine and Lebanon, and despite the imprisonment of so many of their sisters and brothers, the Palestinian people continue to resist and fight for their freedom. Several of the US held political prisoners have recently sent out statements in support of the Palestinan people's struggle. Some of these are reprinted below from the new issue (#7) of 4 Struggle Mag, the 'zine written by US held political prisoners and edited by our comrade Jaan Laaman (http://www.4strugglemag.org).
