| rickylong User Info... | ![]() I was recently thinking about my old friend Chris Buck and I was making a list of bands he had played in. I was friends with him mostly in the very early eighties and remember the bands from then: Beatin Returds, Jaunduce Penguin, Sludge Confrontations, Shovlhead..... then what? Pacific Frontal System I really wasn't around in the nineties so i was wondering what other bands he was involved in during that era. I miss the people we have lost..... -rickylong - Wed, 10 Aug 2005 9:36pm | ||
| Kynasty User Info... | Hey Rick, Its funny, I just put a post up about OnionHouse. I havnt listened to thier demo in years. That song "one more time" brought back some fond memories of Randy, I had forgoten all about that tune. Chris Buck played with SuperFly my old band in about 1994 for about a year and a half. I am still going through old tapes and live shows videos to see if I have anything with him in it. Good Memories man Kent Kynaston - Wed, 10 Aug 2005 10:05pm | ||
| Curmudgeon Rocker User Info... | Wasn't he in a band (with Ken Kempster) called We Don't Do Much, just before Shovlhed? - Wed, 10 Aug 2005 10:53pm | ||
| _Griphin_ User Info... | Why yes, he was. If I can remember, I talked with his X-G/F a few weeks after Chris died, and I wanted to do a compilation (free, of course) of bands Chris was in. Thing is, I need to get demos that he played on. Especially We Don't Do Much. If anyone can help me with demos, please E-Mail me. Thanks. - Thu, 11 Aug 2005 9:31am | ||
| Kynasty User Info... | I did also know of a band Chris played in around 1990 called Crab Juice. My good friend Tom Garrow i'm sure has an old demo of that. I think Ken Kempster was on drums for that one as well. Kent - Thu, 11 Aug 2005 12:24pm | ||
| _Griphin_ User Info... | I'd LOVE to get my hands on Shovlhed demos, thing is, who do I talk to about getting said demos? It can be near impossible to get demos when people that have them are just too busy to help get me copies. Anyone?!? - Thu, 11 Aug 2005 1:58pm | ||
| brad User Info... | Scott Henderson of course...may know of a few more not listed above, and Griphen he was also the guitar/vocals in Shovlhead...(man remember "Bug Party" off of the 7" with Show Biz Giants and the Vinagrettes? I love that song, and those guys were insane and talented enough to pull it off!) I'm now madly searching for my "Proud as a Moose" CD...if I can actually bring myself to remove my recently aquired copy of The Stickmen out of my computer that is! - Thu, 11 Aug 2005 7:10pm | ||
| _Griphin_ User Info... | Yeah, I completely fergot Scott Henderson was related to that band. I wonder if I could make a deal with him to grab it. - Thu, 11 Aug 2005 10:27pm | ||
| brad User Info... | It is just now I realize how much of an idiot i am! Of course the Shovlhead disc (which i couldn't find for the life of me) was called "Stove Boy Serves Daily Special", doh! - Thu, 11 Aug 2005 10:44pm | ||
| _Griphin_ User Info... | I don't remember Bug Party, but you ever remember the Vinaigrettes "Wing Night" demo? (Decent songs on that demo, like "House Arrest" and "Single White Girl") I actually copied that from tape and burned off a copy for Carolyn Mark. Great demo!!! Now if only I could find the other CD I'm missing (not Gross Negligee) or her solo stuff (on Mint Records, I think). - Thu, 11 Aug 2005 11:46pm | ||
| RG User Info... | I could be wrong here, maybe Dan Wiseman or Dane could confirm this, but I'm pretty sure that it came up in conversation with Chris once that he was in Dig. Considering that I saw them once of twice I should be able to remember but I didn't know Chris at that point. - Sat, 13 Aug 2005 1:23am | ||
