Hey Amanda!!!

Long time no see!! How are ya?? Ya I'm still with SEASONS OF SORROW, but my solo project is FUNERAL FORNICATION. I believe I actually showed you the logo I had designed for it way back in the day. I got my own recording studio so I've just been going like mad on making some demos. I put the LASHING ETHER project to bed years ago. (Though I still have CDs available if anyone out there wants some gothic rock/metal)

Anyway, good to hear from ya. I'm living in Vic now, so feel free to call me sometime if you want. My # is in my profile info.

Haha that's awesome.
Victoria is where it's at.
I've kinda...Focused more on piano now than guitar.
I've apparently gotten ahead of myself, which isn't a bad thing, playing lots of grade 5-9 stuff, which is something I'm proud of.
Awesome that you're doing well with the recording studio, right on!
Haha, I'll have to let you know when I'm in Vic next, which is often enough...I love it there ^.^ - Mon, 8 Aug 2005 12:56am

Well, first of all Jaron... I like the tracks you put up there... especially the Zeppelin cover...

One After Two... you said you used to work with corpses... what exactly.. my buddy Shane [drummer for S.I.C.K.] has been thinking about applying to be a morticians apprentice... any info you've got that might help him with that would be appreciated...

And as for the corpse paint... you'll never see me doing it [except maybe on Helloween]... but there's nothing really wrong with it... bands have been doing similar things for years... Including my all time hero... the King of the Freaks himself, Alice Cooper... as well, to mention a couple more names... Kiss, Twisted Sister and many more....

The way I see it, being a freak is a good thing... it seperates you from the norm... think of it this way... if everybody looked/acted the same... wouldn't the world be boring?... Myself, I prefer to be a bit more of a psychological freak... but then again, thats what I like...

In short, Freaks are what makes this world interesting... be a freak in your own way... or be a sheep... just don't do it to please others... please yourself... and others will follow...

Thanks SickFuk, glad you liked the Zep cover. Also I think your stance on corpsepaint is pretty apt. I don't wear it to be different or to be "scary" as such, I do it cause the music is black metal and corpsepaint is completely part of that scene. All my black metal influences wear or have worn corpsepaint: Immortal, Carpathian Forest, Darkthrone, Urgehal, Sargeist, Leviathan, Draugar, Black Dawn, Siebenburgen, Dimmu Borgir, Averse Sefira, etc, etc, etc. So I feel like if I am going to make a project of grim black metal...its kind of expected.

I haven't been able to record anything new lately because I've been busy recording Peruke. But as soon as their disc is done I will be making more black metal for those who enjoy it.

Peruke's recording is turning out awesome!! i can't believe i'm getting the sound quality I'm getting with them.

And yes Shawn, corpsepaint is a ritual, you know that and I know that, but try explaining that to most of the persons on livevic without sounding like a tryhard.

Sickfuk,

I so very briefly tried to get a job picking up yer Dead in Vancouver a few years ago. Part of my application involved driving around Vancouver with Mr. Plow and Fat Joe Satan collecting old people that died the night before and taking them to the morge. I did not get the job, but learned a lot. It paid $100 a day. Don't know about funeral homes.

The makeup looks fun... but not my thing, thats all. Looks sort of funny and not dark and evil. You should get some out-of-work makeup artist to paint you up all herion overdose or night of the living dead for your promo shots. That might look rad. - Mon, 8 Aug 2005 7:15pm

dude, what the hell do you think you're doing? This is garbage. for one, your recording sucks. do you plug your guitar effects processor straight into your Soundblaster?
Also, HOW DO YOU FUCK UP ELECTRONIC DRUMS???? That Zeppelin song grooves like 90 year old alzheimers patient in a wheelchair. Way to do Bonham justice.

First of all the fact the the sound quality of a black metal recording would be questioned shows that you know absolutely dick about black metal or its history. I intended it to sound raw and grim.

Secondly, the drum beat was not programmed shithead, i played each individual beat on the drum machine by hand. And if you think THIS is medieval trash, check out my other band "Seasons of Sorrow" lol

Also, yes Bonham is a good drummer and I have lots of respect for him, but i couldnt give a flying fuck about trying to do him justice, at least not when recording black metal.

Plus its pretty easy to slander other peoples work when you wont even let people know who you are. The fact that you have to remain anonymous just shows how much of pussy you are. So fuck you, your words fuel this music.

It happens. Some people may not like it but I don't see a reason to tell them to fuck off. People will have negative criticism sometimes and its too bad that they can't be that constructive about it but don't let it bother you. (judging from your post it seems like it sure bothered you)

And geez, why do you have to name drop Seasons of Sorrow everytime? Its not really relevent but from viewing your posts many times its hardly not ever mentioned. - Wed, 10 Aug 2005 5:55pm

wait a minute...off topic first....Jaron is doing the new Peruke recording? I find that kinda funny. Wasn't it he who wrote in Absolute Underground a while back:
"Who knew that Victoria had such an awesome grind scene? Who knew Victoria had a grind scene? Well until the fateful winter of 2003, it didn't! From the frosty mists of that years grim season(rolling my eyes here), the musical travesty Mitochondrion was wrought!"

First off Mito aren't a fucking grind band(this is no slight towards them as I'm sure they know I love them)....and beyond that what was written is quite a slight against some other bands from the city......Peruke definately being one of them(seeing as they do actually play grind and have been around for a long fucking time "please... mess with Texas"(their old recording) contained songs recorded from 1998-2000 if I remember correctly).
I just kinda find it humourous that after writing that ill informed crap he is now recording Peruke.

On topic I think Funeral Fornication(from the one song I tried to listen to) is pretty fucking terrible....but that's just one jerks opinion. - Thu, 11 Aug 2005 12:49pm

Ok first off i have to say, i LOVE raw low quality black metal like i love getting stoned and playing Counter Strike (a few of you will know how much that is, those who don't can fuck off), but i don't really like this, if this was a joke project i would get oh so much more out of it. It simply falls sort (like 666 miles short) of sounding raw or grim. I do however like how the vocals sound like they were recorded in the bathroom, literally shitty myspace black metal. Speaking of which, these bastards pwn Funeral Borification (and sound WAY raw, which sadly you do not):

http://www.myspace.com/gargotheron

Listen and learn J-ron. Also i am sad to say that you got pwnd (again) before you even started your new project by vancouver island's own ANTIEVANGELIST! Those that do not understand just how ridiculous blackmetal can be, are doomed to make bad music that only slightly resembles black metal (in most cases). This coming from a guy that couldn't play a guitar to save his life (but embarrassingly does in public from time to time) and is involved in more than one black metal influenced project, so lets just say i get how hypocritical i can be.

I hope you can understand my stupid little rank here, cause i just read it back and it confused me.

So basicly, fuck you victoria black metal you fucking suck (save ANTIEVANGELIST)! - Fri, 12 Aug 2005 5:09pm
