in the wierd post-modern media universe that we inhabit, something like this could actually be GOOD for her career. just look at that lip-synching "scandal"--- it was the best thing that ever have happened to her. i can just see the talking heads on "extra" doing a little piece on this petition like it was the cutest thing ever-- and in doing so give ashlee simpson MORE exposure.

Adam- I don't know if I'm right about this specific example, but in general right now public humiliations often lead to fame.

her fuck up on SNL basically launched her career. video of paris hilton shagging some dude made her famous. that william hung dude is famous because he is so shitty at singing. jessica simpson is more famous than ever because she is so fucking dumb. remember that star wars kid? i bet he could launch a dancing career if he only had the balls. the commonality of all of these examples is that we are laughing (or in the case of paris hilton, jerking it) at these people who seemingly aren't in on the joke themselves.

as far as ashlee simpson having a career before SNL, this is true, she was signed and everything, but believe me we would not be discussing her on this board had that not happened.

Mi*coll*, I think Ashley has been fighting to stay relevant ever since SNL.

There are so many sex tapes on the net that the only reason Paris' stands out is b/c she is famous (before the video) and the white, rich, spoiled daughter of an American Power family.
