| denver User Info... | i want to get a keyboard and a synth. i'm not gonna spend a ton i would spend a fair amount, anyone know what some good models are? and if i have a keyboard, and go through say a microkorg, does that mean i have a synth and a keyboard? thanks denver - Wed, 5 Jan 2005 7:00pm | ||
| cooper User Info... | I don't quite understand your question. Do you have a microKorg already? The microKorg is a synth, with a keyboard. You can get synths with no keyboards, but you'd need a MIDI controller to use them. If you're asking whether or not the micoKorg is a good synth, I own one and I love it. | the pine tree savage User Info... | No you dont, I have been playing the micro-korg since it came out, and is the best investment I have ever made. You can hook a large keyboard up to the think with midi , and play the micro korg with a larger key board, or the other way around, not that you would want to, the korg rocks, you can edit and save your own customized presets, has a built in arpegiator you can change perameters of delay, echo, flanger, blablablablablabla,,,,, It will be a bit of a learning curve, if you are new to this sort of mumbo jumbo, but it is cheap, light weight, takes batterys If you get drunk and out of control, and smash it in a rage, its a lot cheaper then the triton to replace, and clean-up is easier. And believe me, you will probably contemplate smashing it into little pieces, I did. If you need any other related advice, I know a bit, and can teach basic midi stuff, If you go to Long and MQ, ask their staff, they are pretty good about helping you find what you need, and what you dont need, so learn first. NORDS are wicked to, I wish I had one of them instead, but the micro korg is great also. theres another called the V-Synth, I get a hard on every time I play these things, becarefull, they are all extremely addictive, and should be aproached with caution. | Kris User Info... | It does everything from retro synth sounds, to retro hip hop sounds, to trance and techno dance noises. its really really great man, i'm sure you'll find what you need in it. it does not, however, imitate instruments. so if you are looking for real sounding piano, horns, or anything like that you wont find it. its all synth noises and other crazy noises from who knows where. - Thu, 6 Jan 2005 10:33am | ||
