| down with bush | wow that guys posts really made me realize how horrible this war really is. when watching bbc world news the other night i found them talking about civilian casualties, 'hmmmm i wonder why the cnn, or mbc haven't talked about this fact yet', it seems to me that it is the most important and disturbing part of the war and yet the US choose to ignore it to make their war look like a reasonable thing. i am yet to see anything about civilian casualties on north american news, other than the US saying they have precision bombs that have 90% accuracy, well sure makes you wonder about the other 10%. oh wait they have talked about casualties, their own, they sure make a big deal about a few solders, its war what the fuck do you expect, a holiday? - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 12:40pm | ||
| Anonymous | they sure make a big deal about a few solders? Did they? Looks to me like all information is treated close to the same. We will all hear and see what that 10% of mistakes did later anyway. War always has it's horror side. Thank god the US military isnt run by a Hitler or Saddam! - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 1:34pm | ||

| Anonymous | As far as the other civilians, it's no different than when a forest fire, flooding, volcano warnings, tidal wave warnings - Always the ones who refuse to move outa harms way. Sad but true, ignorance and stupidity is the cause for these unfortunate deaths/injuries. - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 4:29pm | ||

| Colin User Info... | pretty insitefull, however your comments about Israel are different in one way. Isreal is a Democracy and Iraq is a Totalitarianism state ruled by an evil dictator. The majority of Israel's attacks have been in direct response to terrorist attacks on their own people, that's no different than any other country would do in that situation. I am not in any way justifying this war, in fact I think it's the biggest self serving war in history. Who do you think Iraq's biggest customer for oil is going to be after all this? BBC just reported that no WOMD or chemical weapons have been found or used yet. After this "Liberation" is finally over and if none of these weapons have been found, the US and "little Bush" better brace themselves for a war crimes tribunal. - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 11:45pm | ||
| Anonymous | What war crimes have they commited? How can you compare 9/11 being far less disastrous over iraq? What about civilian death toll? - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 1:44am | ||
| Colin User Info... | If the US ends this war and no weapons of mass destruction have been found then this invasion would have been futile. The UN inspections would be substanciated and the US would have alot to answer to as to why they had such an itchy trigger finger. As for the losses in 9/11- I'd be really surprised if fewer than 3000 lose their lives in this campaign so how would it be different if there's thousands of lost lives and no WOMD found? The country would have been attacked for no reason. The UN resolution (1441) is for DISARMAMENT OF IRAQ not REGIME CHANGE! The US is making up it's own rules as it goes along whilst trying to rule the world. - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 2:13am | ||

| Brad | Im an American living on the Island here. I lost interest in politics during the debates between Bush, Clinton, and that little (Ross Perot?) Then there was the LA riots (I was just a couple miles from it), Ruby Ridge, Waco Texas(david keresh), San Diego border patrol killings, many conspiracy theories, the Una Bomber, murder on the streets and no way to protect yourself and stay within the law, oh and the O.J. Simpson case. The point is that I have no idea whats going on. Nothing makes complete sense. Many missing pieces to a puzzle so complex when broken down. I personally believe America has been on its way down since the late 80s early 90s. Too many strange changes in laws. People can protest all they want and nothing will change. I think theres someone behind the president that is in control, like that old witch in that Robin Hood movie. The true Master of Puppets. - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 7:02am | ||
