Eric SUBHUMANS!!! and NOT "the subhumans" from vancouver. The Real Subhumans from the UK! - Mon, 13 Jan 2003 9:13pm
The Voice Of reason I didn't know there were two different Subhumans. That's what sucks about so many shitty punk & metal bands. Subhumans, THE Subhumans, Subverts. Come on! there are NO original names anymore. They all have this dumb predictable formula they always use. Even in this city alone. Gross Misconduct, Abuse of Power, Explosive Rage Disorder, Threat Of The End. WHAT IS WITH THAT?

Hey I can make new shitty band names just from the ones above: Threat Of Disorder, Explosive Misconduct, Gross Disorder...Hey this is fun!

no originality - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 7:55pm

>>SUBHUMANS!!! and NOT "the subhumans" from vancouver. The Real Subhumans from the UK!

The Subhumans from Vancouver were born and died long before the UK Subhumans formed. Not to mention they kicked their UK asses several shades of pink and blue. - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 8:47pm
Matt D. I wanna hear THE Subhumans from Van. Is their stuff really rare now? I can only find the UK stuff (which I like) in record stores.....
or am I not looking hard enough??? - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 11:00pm
Matt D. Oh yeah, could you Brand X guys find some pre-Nomeansno stuff, namely the Infamous Scientists (or some such name)? I think that was when they (Wright bros) were recording on a four-track, but I'm a little sketchy on the history. If not, Nomeansno does it for me. (0+2=1, Small Parts, sometime when Andy was still playing geetar)........ thanx - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 11:03pm

Despite my last post, the UK Subhumans were actually pretty good. I heard the Van Subhumans first and they had a bigger impact on me. Their stuff is probably pretty hard to find, although you could probably download 'Slave To My Dick' from somewhere. Not their best tune, though. - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 4:21am

The Subhumans from Vancouver are the superior Subhumans indeed! The Brits got more recognition on a worldwide level, but the Vancouver boys were every bit as political. In fact bassist Gerry Hannah ended up in prison for his politics. They were (along with DOA and Black Flag) among the first punk bands to extensivley tour North America.
Matt, I could hook you up with some tunes!

DEATH TO THE SICKOIDS! - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 4:41am
Anonymous Fuck Van subhumans. The UK Subhumans were the real deal. They stayed true to why they staretd in the first place, and never stopped. RECOGNITION? the (uk) subhumans came here a few of years back and played frenwood! that's pretty sweet for a globally recognized band! - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 5:33am

if you want to talk about sticking true, you should read up on the vancouver subs. They are one of the only punk bands out there that actually practiced what they preached. The u.k. subs are a great band, but dont go hacking the vancouver subs when you dont seem to really know what your talking about. Educate yourself on the subject a bit first. Look up the squamish five. They were blowing up bombs when Osama was still jacking off his c.i.a. buddies. - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 7:34pm

i gots the original 7" of bancoober subhumans 'death to the sickoids' with 'oh canaduh'. anyone wanna buy it? - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 11:29pm
MWPR Hey not to hack 'em but... I saw the UK Subhumans when they reformed 1990ish and they were fucking great. Over two nights they did every complete album chronologicaly. Heres the but... they did it cos one of the band members (I don't remeber which one) need the money to get married or something or other. SO, lets not be giving them too many punk points! The Van version was one of the best bands I have ever seen live, and "Incorrect Thoughts" wore out a few needles. - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 11:53pm
