Well I was at all three....yup; three BF shows. All times it was Hank I beleive...Bill Stevenson on drums the first two times maybe, last was Martinez. First bass player was whatsisface, the bald guy? Chuck?? Dez Cadena was playing git once two I believe...We opened for 'em once. Scared the heck outta us(!!) Lil' Johnny London was quakin' in his Adidas...haha! I actaully had a straing contest with Hank at one point..I didn't know what the heck to do?? He just locked onto my eyes and wouldn't look away. He eventually nodded and broke his gaze...scared me good. Haha! - Thu, 19 Sep 2002 12:03am
Anonymous man...what i would pay to see one of those shows with anyone of those lineups....born too late. - Fri, 21 Mar 2003 8:50pm
Trailer Park Boy Julian Yep - shows like this are about as "punk" as it gets in Victoria. A few buddies of mine saw the last Black Flag show in Vic - but the funny thing is, they're not really into punk anymore. I, on the other hand, being an ignorant highschool kid in '85 0r '86, missed out on all this. Alls I can say is Bill Stevenson is the dude; he played in the "mighty" Black Flag and was the drummer for an equally seminal punk band (IMHO) - the Descendents. Of course, and this is the beauty of it all, he's been keepin' it real ever since with All....Rollins I gotta admit is a pretty straight up cat too; I got respect for him... anybody read "Get In The Van: The Black Flag Diaries"? - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 3:50am
stank ass i have a pic of henry circa 82 above my bed. aren't i just fucking cool or what? fuckin eh.

did anyone see him in 2001? what'd you think, if so? i laughed practically the entire time. i thought he was hilarious. - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 4:24am
Anonymous i still think henry was the worst thing to happen to BF.

I don't remember there being a starting band for the Black Flag gig I went to at the OAP. I do remember Henry had a female bassist, and that Henry asked the crowd if he knew a place for someone to crash. Other then that, that gig rocked bigtime!!!! Too bad Black Flag couldn't reunite and play another Victoria gig :) - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 6:30am
Bryn Poor little me... that was about 5 years before I moved to Victoria. I was at home in Prince George rockin' my BlacK Flag cassettes and dreaming. They were one of the old school bands I never got to see :( - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 1:32pm
mike Henry was the worst thing to hit BF. And shit brynn that would have made you, what tens years old? - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 3:36pm

If I remember right BF played here 3 or 4 times. The first time was with Henry, Greg, Dez (on 2nd guitar), Chuck and Emil ( who only appears on the TV Party 7" as far as records go). The 2nd time they had Bill on drums and Kira on bass. Meat Puppets (fantastic!!) and Nig Heist (hysterical) opened. I think the 4th time they had the last incarnation of the band (I forget who was in it). The 3rd time was, I think, Kira and Bill. The 1st gig was arguably the greatest punk rock gig this town has ever seen (I forget who opened). - Mon, 24 Mar 2003 12:54am

Bong Some bitch on this site said that my punk music tastes were..."commercial" for liking BF, Pistols, Meat Puppets,
Dead Kens..and although I never saw BF in Vic I've seen them in LA, Ottawa, and Montreal and..Henry slept on my floor in Ottawa in 87 during one of his first speaking tours....ate all my frosted flakes the next morning too the little bastard..and then when CFUV sponsered his last speaking tour he told me that he didn't even like frosted flakes...lying prick! he's a biiiiig TV star now though and I'm just an old stoned punk..so what the fuck..bet those OAP show were good though.
