Embark on an extraordinary Canadian musical journey led by pianist and composer Attila Fias, accompanied by an ensemble of Victoria’s premier musicians, with an all-Canadian program! They’ll be playing music from some of the country’s eminent composers including luminaries such as Oscar Peterson, Joni Mitchell and Kenny Wheeler, among many others who have enriched our musical heritage.
Attila’s jazz arrangements will showcase the band’s versatility, ranging from intimate trios to the full sextet complete with three horns. His original compositions will also be featured, inspired by his explorations of this magnificent land. This concert will be a heartfelt tribute to our culture, our music and our natural wonders which we all enjoy and cherish - a captivating blend of excitement, melodious beauty, bombastic jazz energy and nostalgic resonance all interwoven into a singular experience.
