About

The Parallels

The Parallels never stand still. Fittingly neither does their music, jumping from decade to decade, and drawing influences from the most storied bands of rock & roll history and the kids in the garage down the block. Their sound is an amped up and hyperactive blend of rock and soul sensibilities that place heavy emphasis on the movement of the dance floor. And while the name, The Parallels is new, Mike, Jarrod, Mick and Tyler have been causing a stir on dance floors across the country for several years as the Hoodwinks. The Parallels upcoming album entitled 1961 McLean, recorded with the venerable Jesse Gander of the Hive Studios presents a band poised to come into their own as one of the foremost representatives of danceable Rock & Roll on the west coast. The Parallels 1961 McLean is the first release from Vancouvers Upstart Hi-Fi and is available for purchase from their website (www.upstarthifi.com) or from finer record stores everywhere.
