Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering: Everyone—welcome Jam at 6:45pm, Open Stage at 7:30pm, Feature Performers Bagatelle at 9:00pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door

Bagatelle blends the rhythmic pulse of traditional Québécois music with the infectious energy of bluegrass. The band delivers a high-energy performance filled with tight harmonies and irresistible toe-tapping tunes. Whether it's a foot-stomping reel, a heartfelt ballad, or a lively call-and-response song "en français", Bagatelle brings a fresh yet deeply rooted sound that captivates audiences. While you may all of a sudden feel as though you've been teleported to Quebec, all the members are from right here in Victoria: Paul Moquin on acoustic guitar, Taiki Moquin and Ben Barrett-Forrest on violin, and current Canadian Grand Master Fiddle champion, Max Francis on banjo, mandolin, and (of course!) fiddle.
