Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering: Everyone—welcome Jam at 6:45pm, Open Stage at 7:30pm, Feature Performers Willow at 9:00pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door
In 2013, amid the rocky beaches and gentle waves of Quadra Island, BC, four women joined voices and hearts and Willow was born! Their love for vocal harmonies is the backbone of their repertoire, complemented by an ever-growing array of folk instruments including guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, balalaika, and banjo. The four members of Willow – Andrea Blaseckie, Maureen Fox, Trinity Gogolin, and Kelly Beamish – come from varied backgrounds and musical experience, and this diversity is reflected in the wide-range of genres they bring to their highly engaging performances. From the sounds of Appalachia ringing through gospel and bluegrass tunes to the smokey haze of the Blues and the harmonic sounds of traditional folk, Willow’s blended harmonies capture the attention and the heart of every audience!
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
