8:00pm: Maria Taifour DJ set
A rising star in Toronto’s vinyl DJ community. Maria’s sets are genre-spanning and captivating.
9:00pm: Strip Lacquer
Toronto-based band Strip Lacquer are an act who are comfortable existing in unease. Drawing from art rock experimentation, industrial abrasiveness, and post-punk ethos – Strip Lacquer is an outfit that encompasses sharp emotional songwriting with nuanced dissonance and a diverse sonic palette. Their musical influences include The Birthday Party, Fad Gadget, Malaria!, Chris and Cosey, and Broadcast. Strip Lacquer is laced in a delicate yet murky disposition, shifting seamlessly from amoral to vulnerable, fixated by a desire to dissect the grotesque.
10:00pm: Tegan DJ set
A favourite on Wolfe Island, Tegan is sure to spin her usual mix of psych, jazz, country and good-times tunes to suit the evening!
11pm: High Alpine Hut Network
Toronto’s own electronic jazz meets free form psych rock melting pot collective, High Alpine Hut Network, are returning to Wolfe Island! You might know some of their members as the organizational force behind the Oscillitarium. High Alpine Hut Network sits in a genre defying realm where rhythm is also king, pushing their improvised maelstrom from ripping rock riffs to charred free jazz fusion inspired horn escalations.
12:00am: Ben Rositsan DJ set
Last year at the festival Ben BLEW OUR MINDS with his innovative DJ set. It was truly unlike anything we’ve ever seen. We laughed, we cried, we danced. It was a highlight amidst stand out performances. We cannot wait to have him back on decks to see what he busts out for us this year!
