Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering: Everyone-welcome Jam 6:45pm, Open Stage 7:30pm, Feature Performers starting at 8:45pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door
Join us tonight for not one, not two, but THREE feature acts — Kilt’n Kimono, Wayward Sirens, and Lonnie Glass!
8:45pm: As Victoria-based folk duo "Kilt'n Kimono”, Steve Bachop and Nobuo Kawaguchi combine their shared love for vocal harmonies with innovative arrangements for guitar and ukulele to put a new spin on old folk/pop classics and original songs. Infusing their performances with personal stories of discovery, life's journey, and a healthy dose of quirky humour, Kilt'n Kimono take their audiences along for an uplifting and enjoyable ride!
9:10pm: Wayward Sirens features Heather Read (Peach & Quiet) and Tracy Summers (Virgo Rising). With shared roots in Clancy's Front Porch, they create a distinctive "Canadiana" sound. Inspired by icons like Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, and The Wailin' Jennys, The Sirens weave folk, roots, and contemporary elements with rich harmonies. Their music aims to remind audiences how it bonds, heals, and connects us all.
9:35pm: Lonnie Glass began his musical life in the 1960s singing R&B and playing bass guitar, eventually founding a ZZ Top tribute band and touring for 27 years. He began writing his own material in 1990 and now has a repertoire of more than 160 songs all presented with his signature bedrock vocals. Lonnie is the consummate storyteller & entertainer!
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
