Event Description

Please join us at Oak Bay United Church as we celebrate Earth Day 2024 through the telling of the Indigenous tale Raven Brings the Light. The story, which originated over 3,000 years ago, is a traditional story of the peoples of the Northwest Coast of BC. It will be recounted by Robert (Lucky) Budd, a gifted oral storyteller, who collaborates with renowned Indigenous artist Roy Henry Vickers to preserve traditional stories and share them with people of all ages.

Storytelling will take place upstairs in the Oak Bay United Church sanctuary. This is an elevator-accessible space. Following the story and a question period with Lucky, we'll move downstairs to the Community Hall for refreshments and art-making.
