Event Description

The exhibition A Closer Look: Nature and Materials features four artists with diverse skills and experiences who all draw inspiration from the natural environment that forms the foundation of our art practices. Ideas and materials grow together in a type of alchemy creating a personal language and an ongoing investigation that allows the work to evolve. The pieces in the exhibition suggest the interconnected relationship between process, materials and nature, offering opportunities to reflect on our current climate challenges.

Each artist will work independently from the others, exploring materials and ideas drawn from their respective methodologies. Informed by the recent changes ongoing in the earth’s climate structure, this group is hoping to stimulate discussion and draw attention to the current situation threatening our planet. Creating a dialogue with our audience will be a central feature of this show and we are hoping to educate, stimulate and ultimately inspire others to affect change in the real world.
