Melos welcomes Patricia O’Callaghan, soprano, in an exploration of music and poetry from colder climes, on winter’s darkness, challenges and beauty. With Patricia’s stunning voice highlighting the works, Melos Choir & Period Instruments will perform traditional songs and carols of Wales, Ireland and Sweden; contemporary settings of wintry words by Claude Debussy and Dennis Lee; Lassus’ “Videntes Stellam”; and excerpts from Bach’s BWV 182, “Himmelskönig, sei willkommen”; and Vivaldi’s “Seasons”. With poetry readings and narration by Peter Aston.
