Ranger is an independent Soft Rock/Soul band headed by guitarist and singer-songwriter Shane Ranger. Inspired by artists like Bahamas and Leon bridges, Ranger offers smooth, uncluttered melodies, and thoughtful, textural instrumentation. Addressing themes such as love and forgiveness, Ranger delivers emotional resonance and love-sick sincerity while spanning from laid back and tender storytelling, to energetic and wild duelling guitar solos. Shane Ranger has been a hired gun/studio musician for the past 6 years working with Victoria-based bands such as – but not limited to – The Miles Skye Club, The Dough Boys, SAVARD, and Apex Breaks. Throughout that time, he had been writing, building and perfecting the stylings of his own personal project, culminating in the releasing his 2021 solo instrumentalEPtitled“TheLightOfDay”.Expandinghisapproach, hecreatedRangerfrom relationships already formed through past musical connections, including Emily Ross on additional vocals, guitar; Latham Reader on bass, and Scott Sparrow on drums.
So-So Romeo is Vancouver's newest powerhouse indie band. With themes of wild love, heartbreak, and the present human experience, this group showcases a fresh approach to genre-blending with their ear-worm pop music. SSR delicately balances the folk stylings of acoustic guitar with synthesizer keyboards; focussing on harmony-heavy melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and infectious rhythms. So-So Romeo sprouted from the Vancouver scene in late 2022 with a commitment to make dance-heavy meaningful music, and has since made a lasting impression.
So-So Romeo is fronted by Tyler Lanigan (Gnarfunkel), Stevie Wise (formerly of The New Groovement), and Thomas Rink (Kickin' Stumps, Seville), as well as a rotating cast of accomplished session musicians.
Lindsay Dixon is a singer and songwriter, best known for her work in Victoria-based duo Flawed Hearts and the Waiting Room. Combining powerful vocals with moving lyrics, Lindsay’s acoustic solo performances showcase an intimate and heartfelt take on indie-pop/alt-rock music.
