Music: Noise / Experimental / Avant-GardeAPTL co-founder Daniel Brandes will perform pianist, alone, a concert-length work by Swiss Wandelweiser composer Jürg Frey.
"pianist, alone is a work that I have wanted to perform for some years," says Daniel. "Jürg's alone series (pianist, alone, pianist, alone (2), and guitarist, alone) captures something of the profound intimacy that lies at the heart of solo pieces. For me, the "alone-ness" here isn't about loneliness or isolation, but rather an alone-ness that offers a deep freedom to be. pianist, alone gives the player a rare and wonderful gift: the chance to be with their instrument in wondering, pondering communion."
We hope that you can join Daniel for this concert—to sit alone-together in quiet, caring solidarity.
