Jom Comyn || Edmonton, AB ||

"For years, Jom Comyn has been the kind of artist that fellow Edmontonians talk about in reverence. His guitar-based compositions are enlightening, but on I Need Love he abandons that format temporarily for long-form experimentation. There’s some drone-like songs, little interludes, guitar-based lullabies, and even a full-on Motown song. It’s bold and nothing one would ever expect from Jom Comyn, which is why it’s nothing short of incredible." - Grayowl Point

Layten Kramer || Victoria, BC ||

In October 2014, Layten Kramer released his first EP Through The Days, after spending a long winter in the Pacific Northwest. The EP featured acclaimed song Sea of Glass that was put into rotation on CBC Radio 2. Shortly thereafter Kramer embarked on a tour across Western Canada where he and his bandmates cut their teeth on the road. Both his EP and the tour were well received garnering acclaim within the Canadian music sphere, including the JUNO Awards, Ride The Tempo, and Digital Journal.

In April 2016, Kramer released his first full-length LP collaborating with JUNO Award Winning Producer and dear friend Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Yukon Blonde, Sleepy Sun). Featured on the record were also the musical styling’s of Kathryn Calder of The New Pornographers and Geoff Hillhorst of The Deep Dark Woods. For the Sun, embodies a change in direction taking Kramer’s recognized folk sound and adding experimental song structure and lush, psychedelic soundscapes, all the while maintaining intriguing lyrics and catchy, clever hooks. This release was followed up by two very successful tours in the west and the signing to Oscar Street Records.

Currently, Kramer is tirelessly working towards the release of a homemade 4-track concept EP (Glory) and his sophomore album where he will be teaming up again with Colin Stewart. Pushing forward, these projects promise to reveal an even more mature and experimental sound that is slowly becoming Kramer’s trademark.

This event will take place on unceded Coast Salish Territories, specifically of the Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ peoples. As we focus on building artistic and cultural bridges, we acknowledge the rich cultural history of the many peoples and rituals that have been affected by the ongoing process of dispossession and colonialism. We hold this understanding in our interactions and engagements with this land and its people.
