With a luxuriant, powerful voice and remarkable onstage charisma, Maureen Washington has long been one of the most beloved and in-demand vocalists on Vancouver Island. Equally versed in jazz, blues, and soul, Washington recalls the spirit of the classic jazz divas while putting her own stamp on material ranging from Etta James to Norah Jones. Washington has opened for musical greats such as The Blind Boys of Alabama, Joe Lovano and Vincent Herring, and has won several awards including Black Canadian Award’s “Best Jazz and Soul Artist” in 2014. This savvy veteran has just released her 9th album, Harvest Moon.
