From Dec. 1st to Dec. 3rd, an old red rail car that’s been all but forgotten in Vic West will find a new use helping to feed the hungry in Greater Victoria.
The food drive will be part of the inaugural Nomad Holiday Market at the Round House, 253 Esquimalt Rd.
“With colder weather making life outdoors even more of a struggle, a lot of people are thinking about what we can do to help,” says Joseph Gonyeau, market organizer. “I was doing a site inspection after we decided to put on a market and I noticed this amazing old railcar. The thought came to me — ‘wouldn’t it be great to fill that with food?’”
Staff at Bayview Place supported the idea, along with several artists who will be showcased at the market. We now have a group ready to go. This will not be easy and we need help.
