Angus Tarnawsky + 1000 Petal Lotus 7" lathe record release
Angus Tarnawsky is a Toronto-based artist and musician. His work explores the relationship between sound, culture and technology across installation and performance. Drawing from his experience as a drummer and audio engineer, his practice combines aural and visual elements to encourage non-traditional ways of interacting with physical and virtual space. Additionally, he is the founder of In Context Music, a curatorial project that collaboratively engages artists to create new audio works. Originally from Tasmania, Australia, he obtained a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the University of Melbourne before relocating to New York City for almost a decade. Angus is currently studying towards a MFA in Interdisciplinary Art, Media & Design at OCAD University.
This will be Angus's first time performing in Victoria. Expect visuals !
1000 Petal Lotus is dedicated to creating synergy through sourcing unlike samples, melodies and rhythms to create something bold and powerful. The 1000 petals of a lotus translate to all the ways that experience can be interpreted. Keeping perspective and potential the core values of the project, the outcome is something unpredictable that cannot be limited to any one genre.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
