An Evening with Margriet Ruurs and Bill Gaston March 23, 2018
Margriet Ruurs' book Stepping Stones, inspired by the stone artwork of Syrian artist Nizar Ali Badr, tells the story of Rama and her family, forced to flee from the dangers of civil war. Margriet is the author of more than 35 books for children and educators. She has won The Information Book Award, Moonbeam Awards, and the Crystal Kite Award.
Bill Gaston's new book A Mariner's Guide to Self Sabotage is populated by the lonely and alienated but in spite of themselves, they stumble into peace and eventual wisdom. He's a master of the short story genre and has been nominated for the Giller Prize and the Governor General's Award. His most recent novel, The World, won the Ethel Wilson Prize for fiction.
