The Amazing Grace concert is an evening of original songs, swaying gospel, story telling, traditional hymns, poetry, and much more, put on by some of Pender Island’s finest musicians. Lauren Mann, Mat and Sherry Des Roches of Whitebird, Dan and Chanda Bosch of Deer & Coyote, Bobby and Lynette Cooper, Austin Davies, and Steph Jackson.

Opening will be Victoria singer songwriter Benedict Beattie.

Admission by donation. Proceeds to Anawim House

In a world of constant comparison, this collaboration is a refreshing experience. Each of the musicians brings a unique gift to the group, achieving unity of music and vocal harmony. Mat and Sherry Des Roches of the musical project Whitebird are the visionaries behind the Amazing Grace concert with their inspiring blend of west coast roots folk rock through which they share their messages of love and community wherever they go.

Chanda and Danny Bosch of Deer and Coyote add their tapestry of evoking imagery interwoven with the beauty of the cello, with Bobby and Lynette Cooper sharing songs that speak straight to the heart, leaving listeners with a sense of purpose and value. Rounding out the group is tenor virtuoso Austin Davies who shares his infectious love for gospel and choral music, and Steph Jackson, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and soprano whose musicality adds variety and depth to the entire performance. The Amazing Grace concert is a refreshing reprieve from the realities of life and an inspirational evening of music for all to enjoy.
