Great songs are great songs, whatever their origins. David and his band salute the legends of "honky-tonk" music, particularly those whose appeal has spread into other genres. (Hank Williams has been covered by everybody from Tony Bennett to Norah Jones, and Billy Joe Shaver’s "outlaw" songs have been covered by the Blind Boys of Alabama.) Rest assured, the queens of honky-tonk won’t be neglected, either.
