Prank is a coming-of-age comedy featuring honest, fresh performances by Étienne Galloy (Subito texto), Constance Massicotte (L’Hiver et la violence), Alexandre Lavigne (Le Cycle des violences) and Simon Pigeon (Il était une fois les Boys and 1987) as the four unsettled teens. This indie film grabbed attention at the Venice and Toronto festivals, and won the audience award at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (Montreal) and the award for best Canadian fictional feature at the Festival international de cinéma francophone en Acadie (FICFA). “We really wanted to make a film about teen life in all its beauty and tragedy,” says director and co-writer Vincent Biron. Mission accomplished, with a sincere portrait of young people who may be idle, but nevertheless have a clear perspective on the world around them.
